Spatial Data

Spatial data is data with a geometric component (coordinates, if you please). This ties the data to a certain location on the Earth's surface, or in a more broad sense, in a spatial environment.

Using spatial data, GIS systems such as FME can perform all kinds of spatial analisys. The SpatialFilter and SpatialRelator are some of the prominent transformers in that respect.
