Cylon

Cylons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cylon_%281978_model%29) are the enemy robots on Battlestar Galactica, whose eyes constantly scan side to side inside their metal visor.

In FME 2005 or newer, the progress bar that zooms back and forth in the bottom left corner of the window when you are running a translation looks like the Cylons' visors (albeit blue instead of red), hence the unofficial name.
